Harold E. Johnson, 80, of Neodesha, died Monday morning at Fredonia Regional Hospital, Fredonia, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at Ross Cemetery west of Neodesha, Kansas on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel with, Pastor Mitch Andrla of the Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church of Wichita officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and remembrances can be left at the funeral home. Harold Emery Johnson was born January 30, 1930 in Neosho County, Kansas, the son of Peter Johnson and Mary Nelson Johnson. He attended school at Liberty District 31 in Morehead, Kansas. He served in the Marine Corp. from 1952 until 1954 and then became a reservist until 1960. He then worked for Blum Tree Service, a contractor for KGE, as a foreman. On March 02, 1957 at Independence, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Betty Berger and she survives at the home. Additional survivors include: two sons, David Johnson of Rock, Kansas and Ronald Johnson of De Kalb, Texas two daughters Patricia Severs of Fredonia, Kansas and Debbie Johnson of Neodesha, Kansas a sister Pauline Schultz of Neodesha, Kansas twelve grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter Ilah Johnson and five brothers and four sisters.
