Grace Rhoades

GRACE ERBE RHOADES Grace Rhoades, 96, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 at her home in Neodesha, Kansas. Mrs. Rhoades was born October 29, 1910 in rural Wilson County, Kansas to Edward and Iva Newland Erbe. She attended rural school at District 50. Mrs. Rhoades had a wide range of interest. Quilting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, reading, bird watching, flower gardening and cross words to name a few. She also loved traveling to see friends and family. Grace married W.W. Bill Rhoades September 22, 1932 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Bill was the owner operator of Bills Motor Service in Neodesha. Bill died on September 11, 1986. Survivors include two sisters, Iva Alice Bachelder of Tomball, Texas and Edna Ruth Erbe of Wilmington, North Carolina; three sons, Edward William Rhoades of Reno, Nevada, Dr. John Charles Rhoades and wife, Della of Maryville, Missouri, and Leon Erbe Rhoades of Neodesha, Kansas; two daughters, Grace Ellen and her husband, Jack Marchant of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Mary Eileen and her husband, Gary Bruce of Moville, Iowa; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Visitation hours for Grace will be on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services for Grace Rhoades will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrison Cemetery rural Thayer, Kansas with Reverend Kenny Richards officiating.
