GLENNIE A. ROSS Glennie Alice McLane Ross, 98, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away, Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Home, Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation hours for Glennie will be on Sunday, October 30, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Graveside memorial services for Glennie A. Ross will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Neodesha City Cemetery with Reverend Jim Logan, Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Alzhiemers Foundation. Memorials may be left with the funeral home. Glennie Ross, on June 03, 1907, was born in Carmen, Oklahoma to George and Lora Rogers McLane. Glennies family moved from Oklahoma to Sycamore, Kansas when she was five years old. Her parents were farmers until their deaths. She attended the Sycamore Valley School, walking or driving a horse and buggy, through her school years, each school day for three to four miles one way. The school house is still standing. On September 15, 1927 at Fredonia, Kansas, she married Earl H. Ross. Mr. Ross died on December 21, 1974. During Glennies married life, she was a mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, doing a great job in each category Glennie was baptized into the Neodesha First Baptist Church at a very early age, and was very active in the American Women Organization until 1995 when she developed Alzhiemers Disease. Glennie and Earl moved to Independence, Missouri in 1949, moving back to Neodesha in 1972. Preceding her in death was her husband, Earl; her parents; four brothers, Ben, Lester, George, Jr. and Wallace; three sisters, Pearl Carter, Vera Justice, and Mary Hicks; and Jason Wilson, a great grandson. After being stricken with Alzhiemers Disease at the age of 88, she lived with her daughter, Patricia and her husband until September 01, 2005. At which time, she was admitted to the Beverly Nursing Home until her death. Survivors include, one brother, Raymond McLane of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Patricia Armstrong and Delores Wilson both of Neodesha, Kansas; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
