Gary Nunnenkamp

Gary Dean Nunnenkamp, 75, of Altoona, KS passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8th, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Altoona, KS with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. A book signing will be Thursday, April 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. A family and friends visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Altoona, KS.
Gary Dean Nunnenkamp was born November 15, 1940 in Norfolk, NE, the son of Ernest A. and Ruth (Bock) Nunnenkamp. The family moved to Valley Center, KS where Gary attended school and graduated from high school in 1958. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958 and retired in 1981.
Gary was united in marriage to Jeanette McLeod on November 9, 1982 in Chanute, KS and they made their home in Chanute, KS before moving to Altoona, KS in 2001 where they made their home. Gary was a member of the NRA and was a gun enthusiast, he loved fishing and hunting, riding motorcycles and traveling. But most of all he loved spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include: his wife, Jeanette of the home, one son, Andrew Pupanek and his wife Michelle of Altoona, KS, two brothers, Wayne Nunnenkamp of Appleton, WI and Stan Nunnenkamp of Valley Center, KS. He is also survived by one sister, Donna Reimer of Park City, KS and two granddaughters, Emmalynn and Hadlee Pupanek of Altoona, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alan Nunnenkmap and one sister, Mardell Spoering.
