Gary Jones

Gary Lee Jones, age 74 of Lebo, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home in Lebo, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.loranfawcettchapel.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the Hand in Hand Hospice and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Gary Lee Jones was born May 29, 1943 in Chanute, Kansas to Glenn and Vera (Hasty) Jones. He grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated from the Neodesha High School. On July 21, 1962 Gary married Alberta J. Steele in Neodesha, Kansas. Gary was in the United States Army National Guard for 15 ½ years. He worked as a brakeman, switchman and conductor for Frisco/Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 40 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Gary loved fishing, camping, rodeo's, motorcycling, traveling and was a great Father.

Survivors include his wife Alberta of the home; three daughters Karla Sue Jones Jordan, Shelli Ann Jones and Alisha Diane Jones Thomas all of Lebo; two sisters Charlotte Schultz of Olathe, Kansas and Sharon K. Wright of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren Kayla Rose Jones Jordan, Michael Antrim Jones Jordan, Grace (Gustavo) Fae Jones Jordan, Jacob Maxwell Feldman, Jarod Lee Alan Jones, Kort Aliger Thomas, Rheyanna Diana Thomas; great grandchildren Leigha Lue Rose Jordan, Julian Lynn Jordan, Byron Tyrone Fowler III, Kaleena Fay Faith Fowler, and Alejandro (Alex) Jose Hidalgo.
