FREDA L. HORNER Freda Lavaughn Horner, 89, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Friday, June 18, 2004 at the Gran Villas in Neodesha, Kansas Freda was born April 07, 1915 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ora A. and Mary Mae Wall-Blanchard. Before moving to Neodesha, she lived in Sedan, Kansas, St. Louis, Missouri and Winfield, Kansas. She married George Horner on November 9, 1937 in Independence, Kansas and they resided in Neodesha since that time. She was a homemaker and a cake baker and decorator who was very well known around the Neodesha area. She will be remembered by many couples for the beautiful and delicious wedding cakes for their wedding day. Mr. Horner preceded her in death on April 23, 1988. She was a member of the Trainman Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and Christs Church. Freda is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Williams of Independence, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Ron Clifton of Independence, Kansas, Judy Clifton of Neodesha, Kansas, Dennis Featherngill of Houston, Texas, Teri Hurley of Coffeyville, Kansas, Toni Jabben of Dearing, Kansas, Debbie Davis and Dee McManis both of Littleton, Colorado, and Dawn DeNero of Cenntenial, Colorado; eight great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Don G. Davis and one daughter, Ellen Clifton. Visitation hours for Freda will be Sunday, June 20, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. Funeral services for Freda L. Horner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2004 at the Christs Church, 101 W. Elm, Neodesha, Kansas with Reverend Dave Cheshier officiating. Burial will follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery, Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Christs Church, 101 W. Elm, Neodesha, Kansas. Memorials may be left with the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, Neodesha, Kansas.
