Frances Vail

Frances J. Vail, 87 of Neodesha, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Neodesha with burial following in the Neodesha Catholic Cemetery. Friends may stop by to register at PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel on Monday, April 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rosary will be said on Monday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. The family has suggested donations to the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Building Fund or the American Red Cross in lieu of flowers, and memorials may be left in care of the funeral home. Frances Josephine Vail was born on October 15, 1923 to Frank Berntsen and Anastasia Anna J. Wilczek Berntsen in El Reno, Oklahoma. She graduated from Loyal High School in Loyal, Oklahoma in 1941. She was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and Altar Society and was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Frances volunteered for many different causes including that of the American Red Cross, the Election Boards, the Garden Club, EHU, the St. Ignatius Quilting Guild, and in 1973 she was named to the head cancer crusade. Frances married Maurice Morris R. Vail on June 14, 1952 in Independence, Kansas and he survives at the home. Additional survivors include two sons Larry George Vail amp wife Connie of Neodesha and Anthony Vail amp wife Janice of Sycamore grandchildren Melonie Vail, Emily Vail Erbe, Angeline Vail Reese, Audrey Vail Sinn, Anthony J. A.J. Vail and Scott Vail, six great grandchildren, two brothers Leonard Berntsen of Kingfisher, OK and Harold Berntsen of the Kansas City area and one sister Clara Meyers of Goddard, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
