Florence Bressie

Florence B. Bressie, age 76, of Neodesha, Kansas died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her home in Neodesha, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Christ Church in Neodesha, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Friends may sign the register book from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

The family has suggested memorials to the Florence Bressie Memorial Fund and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Florence Flo was born July 14, 1938 in Neodesha, Kansas to Thomas Edward and Flossie Bell Nichols Weaver. She grew up and attended school in Neodesha.

On January 13, 1961 Florence married Wilbur Lee Bressie in Yates Center, Kansas.The couple lived in Washington, D.C. and Silver Springs, Maryland from 1966 to 1978. Lee preceded her in death. Flo worked as a nurses aid and dietician at the Golden Keys Nursing Home and the Golden Living Center Nursing Home for a total of 30 years.

Survivors include two sons Wilbur Lee Bressie Jr of Neodesha, Kansas and Robert E. Whitson of Houston, Texas one daughter Robin M. Bressie of Houston, Texas step sons Steven Bressie of Neosho, Missouri, Keith Bressie of Neosho, Missouri and Mike Bressie of Derby, Kansas step daughters Karen Hoad of Newport News, Virginia, and Debbie Coski of Mead, Washington three sisters Betty Lance of Independence, Missouri, Linda Weaver of El Dorado, Kansas, and Susan Romig of Independence, Kansas granddaughters Samantha Bressie, Neodesha, Kansas grandsons Jeffery Whitson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Chanless Whitson and Christian Whitson both of Clarksville, Tennessee Great Grandson Brayden Wohaska of Neodesha, Kansas.

In Addition to her parents and husband Flo was preceded in death by a son Jeffery Miles Whitson, Brothers Jack W. Weaver, Tommy Weaver sister Dorothy Jean Lance and step daughter Jeanne Brown.
