Faye P. Hanna Faye Pauline Hanna of Neodesha, KS, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at Golden Keys Nursing Home. She was 94. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. A memorial service honoring her life and birthday will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at the Bible Baptist Church. Pastor DeWayne Prosser will officiate. Inurnment will be in Neodesha Cemetery at a later date. The daughter of John Russell and Leona Estella Black Hicks, she was born December 18, 1913, in Neodesha where she received her education. On October 19, 1930, she was united in marriage to David M. Hanna Sr. in Neodesha. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Hanna was employed at the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, KS, during WWII. She later worked at various occupations before retiring. While living in Neodesha, she and her husband were active in the First Church of God. In 1959, she and her husband moved to Chanute where she was very involved in the Church of the Nazarene. In 1998, Faye received the Distinguished Service Award from the Chanute Church of the Nazarene recognizing her 48 years service as a Sunday School teacher and her many years as NWMS president and council member. Survivors included one daughter, Joyce Joan Lakey and her husband Leroy of Anderson, IN; one son, Donnie R. Hanna of Chanute, KS; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hanna of Neodesha, KS; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by one son, David; five sisters, Marie, Grace, Ruth, Evesta and Ruby; three brothers, Roy, Ralph and Loren. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice.
