Everett Ballard

Everett L. Ballard Everett L. Ballard, 57, of Neodesha, died Monday, September 20, 2004, at the Wilson County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2004, in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim York will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ballard family to assist with funeral expenses and may be left at the funeral home. The son of Robert Dutch and Zelma Holliday Ballard, he was born October 17, 1946, in Neodesha, Kansas. He graduated from Neodesha High School in 1964. He served in the US Navy from 1964-1972. While in the Navy, he served one tour of duty in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a self-employed general contractor and was a member VFW Post 5962 and the First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Tara Freeman and Melisa Merando, both of Independence, KS; a sister, Rubie Kirk of Neodesha; a brother, Ernest Ballard of Missouri; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Robyn Kay Wall. The family may be contacted at the residence of Rubie Kirk at 1022 Granby in Neodesha.
