Esther Mardelle Hon, 90 of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Esther Mardelle was born in Climax, Kansas to Pete and Eva Stilwell Broddle. Esther Mardelle graduated as Valedictorian from Severy High School and was married to her husband Harold S. Hon on July 27, 1938 in Piedmont, Kansas. The couple moved to the Neodesha area in 1958 from Valley Center, Kansas where they farmed. Esther Mardelle was a member of the First Christian Church in Neodesha, a member of the Eastern Star and loved to quilt with the women of the church. Mardelle is survived by four children, Patricia J. Davis, Shell Knob, MO Ronnie Joe Hon, Oro Valley AZ Jerry Lee Hon, Keller, TX and Deborah Springer, Independence, KS ten grandchildren and thirteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband Harold on December 21, 2005, one sister and threebrothers. Cremation has taken place under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Neodesha, with Dr. Don Railsback officiating. The family will greet visitors on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date. The family suggested memorial contributions to the First Christian Church of Neodesha. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
