Ernest F. Ballard Ernest F. Ballard of Neodesha, KS, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Golden Living Center. He was 59. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008, at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Rev. Dave Cheshier will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The son of Robert and Zelma Holiday Ballard, he was born January 28, 1949, in Neodesha, KS. He was raised in Neodesha where he received his education. Mr. Ballard served with the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his service, Mr. Ballard worked as a general laborer and was later disabled. He had been a resident of Neodesha for the past three years, moving here from Anderson, MO. He was a member of VFW Post 5962. Survivors include one son, Bobby Edwards of Augusta, KS; one sister, Rubie Kirk of Neodesha, KS; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rhonda Edwards; and one brother, Everett Ballard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Living Center and may be left at the funeral home.
