Elsie G. Clanton Elsie Gladys Clanton of Neodesha, KS, died Friday, September 22, 2006, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Neodesha. She was 92. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2006, at Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Leslie Griffith will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1-6 p.m. The daughter of James J. and Nancy Ellen Keller Dixon, she was born June 18, 1914, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In 1919, she came to Neodesha with her family and received her education here. On October 9, 1930, she was united in marriage to Earl Clanton in Neodesha. They were later
orced. Mrs. Clanton was employed as a cook at North Lawn Grade School and Wilson County Hospital in Neodesha and later at the Coffeyville Regional Hospital. She was a member of the First Church of God. Survivors include James Leon and Helen Clanton of Neodesha, KS; Deloris J. and G. L. St. Clair of Wagoner, OK; and Nancy B. and Ray Fairbanks of Neodesha; one foster granddaughter; eight grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren and four foster great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one foster great-great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Mary L. Steward; two brothers, Clifford L. Dixon and William Lloyd Dixon; and one granddaughter, Janet E. Clanton.
