Eileen Carol Overlin

Eileen Overlin passed away at her home in rural Neodesha, KS on Wednesday, July 12th. 

Eileen Carol (Swenson) Overlin was born on September 15th, 1947, to Andrew H.and Velma (Frey) Swenson in McPherson, KS.  She lived her school years on a farm in rural McPherson.  She attended a one-room country school through grade school and graduated from McPherson High School in 1965.

Eileen attended Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State University) in Emporia and majored in Social Science.  She met Lynn H. Overlin of rural Emporia while at college and was married on August 25, 1968 at the McPherson Methodist Church.

Eileen is survived by her husband Lynn, Neodesha, KS; three children, Lucinda K.(Overlin) Schmitt and husband Mike, Wichita KS, Kyle P. Overlin and wife Darla, Winfield KS, and Crystal L.(Overlin) Adkinson and husband Charles, St. Petersburg FL, as well as five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Eileen was preceeded in death by both of her parents.

Services for Eileen will be held on Friday, July 28th at the Neodesha First Southern Baptist Church, 2273 Ottawa Rd, at 11:00 AM under the direction of Pastor David Dickenson, with a luncheon to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
