DWAYNE ELDON ERBE Dwayne Eldon Erbe, age 65, of Neodesha, Kansas died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Dwayne was born January 9, 1939 in Wilson County, Kansas to Victor and Mary Louise Rausch Erbe. Dwayne grew up in Thayer, Kansas and graduated from the Thayer High School. In 1961 Dwayne entered the United States Army National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1969. Dwayne was a Corporal. On December 29, 1966 Dwayne married Phyllis Erbe in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and they made their home in Great Bend, Kansas. They moved to Neodesha, Kansas in 1977. Phyllis preceded him in death January 21, 2000. Dwayne worked as a Lineman Electrician for the City of Neodesha for 23 years, prior to City of Neodesha he was employed by CP Electric of Great Bend, KS for 20 years. Survivors include four sons Brian Erbe of Virginia Beach, VA, Shawn Erbe and wife Janelle of Wichita, Kansas, Vance Erbe, Lawrence Erbe and wife Chey both of Neodesha, Kansas; two daughters Sandy Holeman and husband Roy of Independence, Kansas and Mary Anne Erbe of Neodesha, Kansas, two brothers Victor Erbe and Wayne Erbe of Thayer, Kansas, one sister Ruth Ann Linville of Chapman, Kansas, twelve grandchildren. He was preceded father, mother and wife Phyllis. Visitation hours for Dewayne Erbe will be Saturday, August 7, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Funeral services for Dewayne Erbe will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Christ Church, located at Elm and Seward, Neodesha with Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrison Cemetery, Rural Neodesha, Kansas. Memorial Contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
