Doug Bicknell Linn Douglas Bicknell of Neodesha, Kansas, died Monday, September 25, 2006, at the Wilson County Hospital. He was 67. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006, at the Grace Baptist Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Logan will officiate. Interment will be in the Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The family may be contacted at their home. The son of John and Florence Addie Linn Bicknell, he was born October 3, 1938, in Neodesha, KS. He graduated from Neodesha High School in 1956. He later attended Independence Junior College. On August 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to Kay Jackson in Miami, OK. She survives at the home. Mr. Bicknell was employed by the Frisco Railroad from 1957-64. He then operated the Kerr-McGee service stations in Neodesha and Erie, KS, from 1964-89. He was an agent for the American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. from 1990-2002 before retiring. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bicknell is survived by three daughters, Joni and husband Steve Berry of Lenora, KS, Sheri and husband Don Crabtree of Lenexa, KS, and Elizabeth Cortelyou of Hastings, NE; one sister, Ann and husband Lawrence Bennett of Murphy, TX; two half sisters, Betty Clifton and Lulu Stephens, both of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren, Amanda Berry, Kayla Berry and Anna Berry, all of Manhattan, KS, LeAnn Cortelyou and Adam Cortelyou of Wichita, KS, and James Berry of Lenora, KS; three nieces; two great-nieces and four great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one half-brother, John Bicknell Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed at www.penwellgabel.com.
