Dorothy C. Foster Dorothy Chloe Foster of Baldwin City, KS, formerly of Altoona, KS, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Baldwin. She was 90. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, KS. Pastor Richard Austin will officiate. Friends may call to register on Thursday from 1-8 p.m. The daughter of William and Mary Alice Walker Mitchell, she was born October 24, 1918, in Green, KS. On July 4, 1941, she was united in marriage to Daniel E. Foster in Manhattan, KS. He preceded her in death May 22, 1998. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Baldwin City, Kansas. In 1999, she moved to Baldwin City, KS, from Altoona to be closer to her family. Survivors include one son, Larry Foster of Topeka, KS; three daughters, Susan Stewart and her husband Terry of Manhattan, KS, Connie Leahew and her husband Bill of Baldwin, KS, and Roberta Harper of Tulsa, OK; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Alice; one brother, Wilbur; and three sisters, Juanita, Bernadine and Flossie. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Baldwin City, KS or the Heart of American Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
