Donald W. Heck, 84 passed away on June 3, 2020 in Austin, TX with his wife Debbie by his side. A Memorial Service will be held at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:00 am.
He was born on June 22, 1935 in rural Thayer, KS to Clyde and Esther (Miller) Heck. Don served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 1957 to Nov. 1962. He settled his family in Parsons, KS where they raised 3 sons while working at Heck & Wicker Construction. Upon leaving Kansas, Don moved to Austin, TX and went into Heavy Haul Specialized trucking. He enjoyed racing cars with his sons and watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing and travelling around the U.S.A. working in the road construction and heavy haul trucking industries. Most recently in Craig, CO and Bristow, OK. Don would help anyone with a reply “Not a Problem”. He will be greatly missed by many. He was one of a kind.
Don is survived by his wife of 24 years Debbie; his former wife, Wanda Heck, Parsons, KS; sons, Jeff Heck, Joplin, MO; Jay Heck, Parsons, KS; Jon Heck (Amy), Parsons, KS; step children, Jay Morosin (Laura), Crosby, TX; Heather Gordon, (Justin), Falls City, TX; grandchildren, Dylan Heck, Jayden Heck, Haley Gordon, Jarren Gordon, Dylan Gordon, Marshall Gordon, Maddix Morosin; brother, Louis Heck (Barbara), Thayer, KS; sisters, Carolyn Bennett (Gene), Pahrump, NV, Stella Wilson, Independence, KS; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
