Donald C. Finley, 80, passed away on Friday, November 24th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Black Oak, AR to Logan and Pauline. Pauline raised Don and his two brothers Hubert "Dean" (Elaine) and Harold "Hal" (Shawn) in Mammoth Spring, AR. In high school Don worked at the Mammoth Spring Theater and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Don later moved to Kansas City where he met his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Jordan. His hard work ethic led him to a successful career in retail at Katz Drug, JC Penney, Venture and Burlington Coat Factory. Don also owned the Blue Goose Frozen Yogurt stores in Westport and Lee's Summit. Don's greatest pride was his two daughters, Maressa Finley-Sinclair and Erica (Kathi) Finley. He doted on his grandson, Parker and loved listening to him play the guitar. He loved watching sports, particularly Kansas City Chiefs and Royals games. Don loved family vacations and enjoyed the beach and ocean views. Don was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Hal. Don leaves behind a loving extended family, including his nieces Mailea, Rose, Jenni, his nephew Jordan and his sister-in-law Joann Linder. Graveside services for Don will be at the Neodesha Cemetery in Neodesha, KS on Thursday, November 30th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to charities related to Heart Disease, Alzheimer's and Cancer Research.
