Dolores was born on 12/23/33 in rural Dorrance Ks at home. She graduated from Dorrance High School Class of 1951. She married Ron Keenan in 1953, and 2 children were born, Donna and Bill.
Dolores was a hard worker, owning and running the Dorrance Café for many years with her family. Her most memorable moments at the café include falling asleep holding an ice cream cone and the time the skunk got in the storeroom. She was open 7 days a week, 50 weeks a year, except to air out the café after the skunk. She was well known for her bierock-making ability and served them frequently to the highway patrol. She was dependable and generous, feeding many and opening the doors to the café during snowstorms and harvest season when people were in need. Her children’s fondest memories include a pet chicken, watching old movies, peeling potatoes or apples and having popcorn. Sunday evenings, when the café was closed were spent with her family fishing or playing badminton or croquet. Later in her career she became a live-in caregiver assisting elderly to continue living in their homes; and had a fond appreciation and love for the staff at Morningstar.
She enjoyed gambling at casinos, playing bingo or cards, going rafting, working puzzles, cooking and collecting cookbooks and recipes. She enjoyed family get togethers, watching KU Basketball and her great grandkids events. Never one to miss an event, she was floated to a wedding in Puerto Rico on life jackets.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father Rose and William Miller, Sisters: Edna Albin, Carol Miller and Joyce Miller. Survivors include: Her son Bill (Nancy) Keenan and daughter Donna (David) Erbe. Grandchildren include: Michelle (Spencer) Casey, Melissa Winters, Billy (Leslie) Keenan, Justin (Witney) Erbe, Gordon Vertin, John Keenan, Jason Bradbury and 9 great-grandkids, many nieces and nephews and family and friends.
