Debbie Pruitt

Debbie Michele Pruitt age 42, of Independence, Kansas passed away on July 20, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Independence.

Debbie was born on March 6, 1972 in Texas City, Texas to William Douglas Pruitt and Debra K. Platt Pruitt. She attended school and graduated school with honors from Texas City High School in Texas City, Texas. She moved to the Independence area nine years ago to be closer to her mom and sister.

Despite her visual disability, she loved and truly found joy reading books in braille, writing short stories and poems and reading to the children at the Independence Library. Debbie enjoyed The Sunflower Club that she was an active member of.
Survivors include her mother and step father, Debra K. Bryan and Gregory R. Bryan of Neodesha, Kansas father and step mother, William and Beverly Pruitt of Santa Fe, Texas sister, Stephanie Pruitt of Independence, Kansas grandmother, Jewelene Cornish of Texas City, Texas special friends, Frank Cooper and John Soles of Independence, Kansas. She was preceded in death by maternal step grandfather, Richard Cornish and step grandmother, Irene Bryan, paternal grandparents Bill and Jean Pruitt.

The family will hold a private Graveside Memorial Service under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, Kansas.
