David A. Vandaveer David Ashbery Vandaveer of Neodesha, Kansas, died Wednesday morning at the Wilson County Hospital. He was 90. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, in the Varner Cemetery under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel with services performed by the Harmony Lodge 94 A.F . A.M. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the funeral home Thursday from noon.-5 p.m. The son of Jesse R. and Myrtle Perkins Vandaveer, he was born December 6, 1914, in Neodesha, Kansas. He was a graduate of Neodesha High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. During WWII, he worked with his father laying pipeline all around the country to assist the war effort. He later was employed for many years by M-E-C in Neodesha and retired from that company as a field supervisor. He was united in marriage to Roberta Lynn Adell on April 9, 1939, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death December 12, 1999. Mr. Vandaveer was a 50-year member of the Harmony Lodge 94 A.F. A.M. He is survived by a son, Alan Vandaveer of Denver, CO; one daughter, Judy Vandaveer of Overland Park, KS; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Jr.; and two brothers, Raymond and Bill. Memorial contributions may be made to the W.A.
