David J. Beye, Sr., 70 of Neodesha passed from this life to be with his Lord Saturday, December 6, 2014 at The Galicha Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kanas.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 at The First Christian Church in Neodesha. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014, 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:008:00p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association and may be left at the funeral home.
David was born November 14, 1944 in Valley Center, Kansas to Ernest Elmer and Zerita Marie Stice Beye. He grew up in the Fall River Kansas area and attended school there. He entered the US Army on December 18, 1963 and served two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on September 12, 1969.
David married Katherine Billingsly on March 27, 1976 in Mound Valley, Kansas. She survives at the home. The family moved to Neodesha in December of 1989 from Cherryvale. He was a machine operator and worked for Cobalt Boats for almost 22 years.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons David Beye II of Neodesha, KS., Ernest Beye and wife Jennifer of Neodesha, KS., Chase Templet of Neodesha,KS., Adam Vickery of Pittsburg, KS., Richard Thornton of Fort Leonard Wood, MO., Anthony Thornton of Haven, KS., and Raymond LaBatt of Grove, OK., brothers Eldon Beye of Towanda, KS., Clyde Beye, Melvin Beye, and Arthur Beye all of Cherryvale, KS., and sisters Virginia Stough of Mulvane, KS., Mildred Tolliver of Cherryvale, KS., Melba Yost of Eureka, KS., and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Josh Beye, one brother, Glenn Beye and one sister Marie Miller.
