Connie J. Johnson Connie Jo Johnson of Neodesha, KS, died Thursday, November 1, 2007, at the Wilson County Hospital. She was 55. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at the United Methodist Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Brian Rothgeb and Reverend Kris Brinlee will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of George M. and Evelyn Pearl McIntyre Goodmon, she was born August 30, 1952, in Neodesha, KS. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1970 and received an associate degree from Independence Community Junior College in 1972. She later attended Emporia State University where she received a secretarial certificate. On March 3, 1973, she was united in marriage to Ralph Johnson. They were later
orced and he survives in Neodesha. Connie was currently employed by USD 461 as a paraprofessional and a crossing guard at Heller Grade School whose warm presence greeted students as they arrived each morning. She had formerly been employed as secretary for the late attorney Al Poznik and at M-E-C. She was also the former co-owner of Western Auto in Neodesha. She was a member of the Neodesha First Christian Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Neodesha MS Support group and the Xi Iota Theta Sorority where she had formerly served as president. Survivors include two sons, Drew Johnson and his wife Lyndsey, and Devin Johnson, both of Neodesha; one sister, Linda Smith and her husband Jim of Independence, KS; one granddaughter, Gracie; and two nieces, Mandy Jo and Amber.
