Cleo Postier

C.H. DUTCH POSTIER C. H. Dutch Postier age 87, of Neodesha, Kansas former Labette County High School Driver Education Teacher, passed away Tuesday morning at the Beverly Health and Rehab in Neodesha, Kansas. Dutch was born in McPherson County, Kansas on May 6, 1915 to Herman H. and Clara Dauber Postier. He was the youngest of five children. IN 1916, the family moved to rural Plevna in Reno County. He was a 1934 graduate of Plevna High School. On January 6, 1939 he married Winifred Spain in Cheney, Kansas, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1991. Dutch and Winnie owned and operated Plevna Service, selling gasoline products and televisions, for nearly 20 years. In 1965, they moved to Pittsburg, where Dutch earned his B.S. Degree in 1967. He also attended Hutchinson Community College and Sterling College. He began teaching at Labette County High School in the fall of 1967 and retired in 1981. He was a member of the Neodesha United Methodist Church, Harmony Lodge AFAM, and lifetime member of the National Education Assn. He was also a ham radio operator under the license KOUUX. Survivors include his daughter, Janet Postier, of Neodesha, One granddaughter and two great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Neodesha United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Hannon. Graveside Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the North Inman Cemetery, Inman, Kansas under the direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are established with the Neodesha United Methodist Church and Sterling College Cooper Hall Renovation Fund. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2002 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2002 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8;00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
