Carla Wasson

Carla J. Wasson Carla Joan Wasson of rural Thayer, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at her home. She was 52. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, at Christ Church under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Dave Cheshier will officiate. Interment will be in Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call to register on Thursday from 9 a.m.5 p.m. The casket has been closed. The family will be gathering privately from 68 p.m. at the funeral home. The daughter of David and Naomi Bennett Garber, she was born July 21, 1957, in Fredonia, KS. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1975. On May 26, 1977, she was united in marriage to Rodney Wasson in Miami, OK. He survives at the home. Carla was an employee for Cobalt Boats for 26 years, rising to the position of Lamination Supervisor. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Naomi Garber of Dennis, KS three sons, Joshua Clintin Wasson, Timothy Michael Wasson and Samuel David Wasson of the home one daughter, Mattie Hale of the home one brother, Carey Garber and his wife Kari of Harrison, MI and four grandchildren, Jayden and Jessalynn Baker and Jacey and Jon Wayne Wasson. She is preceded in death by her father and one son, Billy Jo Wasson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Samuel Wasson College Scholarship Fund in care of the Great Southern Bank in Parsons, KS, and may be left at the funeral home.
