Carl Sexton Carl Sexton of Neodesha, KS, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at his residence He was 71. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. No local services will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Virginia. The son of Roy Thomas and Hazel Mae Reedy Sexton, he was born October 23, 1937, in Marion, VA. He graduated from Marion High School in 1957. Mr. Sexton served in the US Armed Forces until his retirement from the US Air Force in 1978. On July 18, 1965, he was united in marriage to Everdene Rae Fisher in Alamogordo, NM. He had been a resident of Neodesha since May 1, 2008, having moved from Ft. Thomas, AZ, where he and his wife had lived the previous 10 years. Mrs. Sexton survives at the home. He worked for the US Forest Service as a Supervisor of Timber Management. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Laura L. Brake of Neodesha; one brother, Charles Lloyd Sexton of Atkins, VA; one sister, Regina M. Price of Sumter, SC; three grandchildren, Tosh Littau, Wyspher Wilkes, and Trayce Schmitt, all of Neodesha; and three great-grandchildren, Lane and Bronson Wilkes and Taven Littau, all of Neodesha. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
