Carl Asmussen

Carl E. Asmussen, age 87, of Neodesha, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha. Services were held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. The family suggests memorials to the Neodesha Library and memorials may be left at the chapel.

Carl E. Asmussen was born February 6, 1926 in Cherryvale, KS, the son of Amos Gordon Asmussen and Iva Louella Good Asmussen. He graduated from HS and later attended and graduated from
Oklahoma AM . On December 25, 1946 he was married to Bonnie Jean Garrett in Neodesha, Mrs. Asmussen survives. He worked for Gulf Oil for 31 years until he retired. In his earlier days he had played trumpet in the Eddie Craig Band. Carl had served on the board of the Neodesha Library and had enjoyed traveling and sight seeing.

Carl is survived by wife: Bonnie Jean Garrett Asmussen, sons: Mark and wife Catherine Asmussen of West Monroe, LA, Robert Asmussen of Neodesha, KS daughterinlaw: Vickie Asmussen of Neodesha, KS, sister Barbara Anna Jabben Arnold of Independence, KS, 8 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son: Carl Eric Asmussen and his brother: Amos Oren Asmussen.

Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha was in charge of arrangements.
