Billie Rae Gildart, 72, of rural Thayer, Kansas passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 1pm at the Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, October 28th from 6-8pm at the funeral home in Neodesha. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Billie was born October 20, 1943 in Waverly, Kansas to William R. and Edna E. (Bonner) Houston. She graduated from LeRoy, Kansas High School. She moved to Chanute in 1961 and worked for 2 years at the Ashley Clinic and then for the Humboldt National Bank as a teller from 1963-1972.
Billie Married Neil Gildart on May 31, 1969 in Las Vegas and made their home in Rural Thayer. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son Brian and wife Tara Gildart of rural Thayer, sisters Patsy and husband Larry Cann of Pomona, KS, Barbara and husband Aurthur Lake of West Faila, Marcella Trostle of LeRoy, KS, one brother-in-law Lester Petty of Chanute, KS, 3 grandchildren: Taybree, Bryson and Brogan Gildart. In addition to her parents, she was proceded in death by one sister Judy Petty and a granddaughter Tanner Gildart.
