Betty J. Hladky Betty Jean Hladky of Neodesha, KS, died Monday March 5, 2007, at her home. She was 51. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. The Reverend Dale VanMeter will officiate. Interment will be in Fredonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the funeral home. The casket has been closed. The daughter of Bill and Mary M. Holloway Parks, she was born October 18, 1955, in Chanute, Kansas. She moved to Fredonia with her family in 1960 and received her education there. On June 6, 1994, she was united in marriage to Joey Hladky in Neodesha. He survives at the home. At the time of her death, she was employed at Standard Motors in Independence, Kansas. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mary Parks of Neodesha; a son, Travis Walker and his wife Kellene of Fredonia, KS; a brother, Darcy Parks of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Barbara Fishgrab of Pearl, MS; and two grandchildren, Melaina Cheyenne Walker and Ty Logan Walker. She is preceded in death by her father and a brother, Ronnie Fender. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
