A. LORIENE MORGAN A. Loriene Morgan, age 94, of Ash Grove, Missouri formerly of Neodesha, Kansas died Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Cox South in Ash Grove, Missouri. Loriene was born March 11, 1908 in Chanute, Kansas to Harry L. and Bertha M. Walker Smith. She grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated as Valdictorian from Neodesha High School in 1925. Loriene then attended Pittsburgh State Teachers College. On March 3, 1929 Loriene married James Fred Morgan in Neodesha, Kansas where they made their home. He preceded her in death. Loriene taught briefly and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters Freida Lee Brown of Ash Grove, Missouri; Janet Marie Earley of Charleston, South Carolina; Joan Loree Clifton of Hutchinson, Kansas; eight Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild, one sister and two brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2002 at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home with the Rev. James Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2002 and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
